A number of old craft techniques for the refurbishing of existing buildings are in danger of disappearing as more modern construction techniques are increasingly being used – also when older buildings are renovated and/or modernized. Today, fewer craftsmen learn and sustain the old and proven methods, and proud traditions in handling the older buildings in a qualified and gentle manner are therefore difficult to preserve.

Under the development initiative RENOVERING 2010 (RENOVATION 2010), GI – Bedre Boliger and Realdania want to contribute to the preservation of good craftsmanship traditions. This has been done with financial support for short documentary films about a number of selected craft techniques, which are strongly related to other efforts under RENOVERING 2010, especially DANSK BYGGESKIK. Find links and tools on RENOVER.DK
